Webmaster courses / webinar sessions

There are some pretty inexpensive webinars available from webcontent.gov, an organization that teaches web professionals about federal website requirements, common web content practices, website design, and usability performance measures among other topics. Fighting Linkrot

I see there are a bunch of link validators out there to see what urls on your site result in 404 error pages or redirects. Problem is that many of them don’t then tell you what pages the broken links can be found on. What are people using for their own sites, any recommendations?  [read more]

Firefox Accessibility Extension

There’s an updated version of the FireFox Accessibility Extension available (released June 20, 2007). The Mozilla/Firefox Accessibility Extension makes it easier for people with a disability to view and navigate web content. Colorzilla – an advanced eyedropper

So you get to a site you like and adore the color scheme. Want to know the Hex # without booting up Photoshop? Then check out this nifty Firefox extension. From their site: With ColorZilla you can get a color reading from any point in your browser, quickly adjust this color and paste it into another program. You can Zoom the page you are viewing and measure distances between any two points on the page. Safari *hearts* Windows

It’s so on…from CNN: SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) — Apple Inc. launched a version of its Safari Web browser for Windows-based PCs on Monday, pitting it against Microsoft Corp.’s dominant Internet Explorer and Mozilla’s Firefox. “What we’ve got here is the most innovative browser in the world and the most powerful browser in the world,” Apple CEO Steve Jobs said during his keynote speech at the company’s Worldwide Developers Conference.
